Ok so i got my new Coolermaster 690 case..Took everything out of old case..Put in the cm-690 checked everyting..plugged everythign in but when i hit the power button cpu fan spins gpu fan spins case fans spin for like 2 seconds then they stop...i have power to the mobo...Like the green LED at the bottom of my mobo says i have power..when its switched off..As sooon as i press the power button everything starts turning on and LED's light up but withing 2 seonds it all stops...Any ideas anyone?

Yay got it working!!! took PSU out and plugged evreything in double checking..them booted up..and it did it!! yay! thing is now i have to do some serious cable management....Will do that tommorow...Now onto another question..Since i was putting my pc into a new case i ecided to put in an old IDE HDD so i did..plugged it in..plugged the power in but windows doesnt see anything..is there something im doing wrong?Comment

Its only seeing cod4 and C drive...Maybe i plugged it in wrong...is there anything else i ned to plug in apart from IDe cable into hdd and pwer thingy into hdd..obviously ide cable plugged into mobo

Apart from the BIOS, you need to make sure the jumper is shorting the correct pins on the hard disk itself (google it). If it's the second IDE drive, then you set it to slave, otherwise master. I can't remember what cable select does.
It should then show up in disk management (also check device manager). Windows usually disregards BIOS settings.Comment

Cable select pin position (which the manufacturers more and more set as default in new drives) makes the slave/master decision based on the place in cable, i.e. is the drive in the middle or at the end of cable.

A drive setting called cable select was described as optional in ATA-1 and has come into fairly widespread use with ATA-5 and later. A drive set to "cable select" automatically configures itself as master or slave, according to its position on the cable. Cable select is controlled by pin 28. The host adapter grounds this pin; if a device sees that the pin is grounded, it becomes the master device; if it sees that pin 28 is open, the device becomes the slave device.
This setting is usually chosen by placing a jumper on the "cable select" position, usually marked CS, rather than on the "master" or "slave" position.
With the 40-wire cable it was very common to implement cable select by simply cutting the pin 28 wire between the two device connectors; putting the slave device at the end of the cable, and the master on the "middle" connector. This arrangement eventually was standardized in later versions. If there is just one device on the cable, this results in an unused "stub" of cable, which is undesirable for physical convenience and electrical reasons. The stub causes signal reflections, particularly at higher transfer rates.
When the 80-wire cable was defined for use since ATAPI5/UDMA4, the master device goes at the end of the 18-inch cable(black connector), the middle-slave connector is grey, the blue connector goes onto the motherboard. So, if there is only one (master)device on the cable, there is no cable "stub" to cause reflections. Also, cable select is now implemented in the slave device connector, usually simply by omitting the contact from the connector body. Both the 40-wire and 80-wire parallel-IDE cables share the same 40-socket connector configuration.Comment

Dont worry about it guys..after doing some cable mnagament in there i just took the Hdd out..Twas only 80Gb and has ugly IDE cable
And who the hell in Asus thought about putting their frigging IDE conenctor on the bottom LEFT of the motherboard!!! Asus' IDE cable is the only one that fits!!! Just
