HELP!! Cpu not working!

ok.... i just bought inte core 2 duo e6750, and I've installed it and when i try to start the computer, there is no screen i hear the fans running and the hard-drive working but there just isnt any picture at the screen. please help!

* Do you see any flashing lights or hear any beeping noises?
* Do the hardisk LED lights come on?
* What CPU did you have previously?
*Are you sure you have all the necessary power connectors attached to the motherboard? This includes the 4 pin about the CPU slot.

myy specs are old cpu E4400, new cpu: E6750, gpu: nvidia 8400gs (bad i know)
is that enough?

Well, your first stop is to double check that all the correct cables are plugged into the motherboard...

all the cables that were connected before i put the new processor is conected now

Put your old CPU back in and then flash to the latest available BIOS, and then switch again. I wonder whether you are putting a 1333mhz chip in a 1066mhz board and it not liking it.

Although, i would have assumed it would just throttle the speed... :|:

First order of business is to find out the maker and model of your mobo like Alex has suggested. Then find out if there are BIOS up-grades for it.

To my knowledge throttling down the FSB speed does not just happen ( why else they always require the mobo to support 1333MHz) so you better hope that your mobo supports 1333MHz procs. It does not sound likely if you bought your comp as a package, but you'll confirm that when you get to know your mobo model.

also try unplugging all power, remove motherboard battery, and reset the cmos jumper for a minute. then put everything back.
