    New speakers

Basically all I have in mind is the Logitech z-2300, but what else is really good? I'm not really happy with my Bose anymore, so anyone have them z-2300? Good buy?

I got a pair of Z-2300's. They are nice and loud, and the bass is just right.

I should have asked here before buying these $300 speakers, yeah they sound great with slower music, but metal is a totally different story, performance drops big time. I don't know if its the equalizer, I use to use iTunes, now I am using Winamp and winamp sounds 10x better, but still not how its suppose to.
Do yall use an equalizer for soundcard and music player?

use the jammix enhancer for your EQ there are numerous presets and you can also customize to your liking heres a link: Jammix

what is your current sound set-up?

Edit* Also the Z-2300 sounds great with metal especial with the double kickers (All that remains, All shall perish, etc., etc.)

Using the Rock EQ for Winamp, and a custom EQ for my sound card setting
That Jammix adds alot more bass than I needed, I've got everything sounding great now with normal Winamp and X-Fi settings, but my speakers can't handle it.

I had to tune the audio in Creative's Sound Console.
