    WMP11 stopped playing music

So, all was good and working until i went onto Stage6 to watch a movie.
It told me i had an old version of DivX web player, so i downloaded the new one and watched the movie.

I then switched my X-Fi from Game Mode to Entertainment Mode then opened WMP11 to find that i can't hear any of my MP3's or WMA's.

It shows the file playing, but no sound. Movies and other audio formats like wav play fine, just mp3 and wma wont.

I re-installed K-Lite Codec pack and still nowt.

    Any ideas?

Meh... for some reason it decides to work after a game of BF2... obviously.

I had Winamp, and whilst it was OK, the library features were shocking...

                ITunes... that is horrific...

I downloaded Winamp again this morning, and whilst it is quite nice, there are some features that really bug me.

The library is shocking for large music collections. Basic searches and difficult to navigate and the in-ability to simply make the program a whole window and maximise it is annoying.
Although, the range of plugins were nice.

I went back to WMP11 in the end. It does what i want, so i'm happy.

I like WMP 9 better than the current version, as it doesn't have all the album covers and stuff.

VLC Player plays anything you throw at it.

i think thats what makes WMP 11 great. it just adds a bit of variety to those media players that just have lines of songs. but i am some what of a freak in that i have to have all song info correct, i dunno why but it bugs me if its not all up to date.

and alex, i found the problem you had can also be solved by a simple PC restart
