New and need help

Hi All,

Got BF2 The Complete Collection for Xmas and I've installed it, but seem to not be able to even see servers on-line. I have a lot of other questions too, but it just might be easier if someone just hooks me up with a link to a tread explaining installion and so on and so forth...

You do not see any servers because you do not have the lated patch installed. You can get it here:

The Complete Collection comes with patch 1.41 and installs it in the correct order for you.

I read through the links you posted and I do not see anything there that addresses my issues. I can play single player, but cannot get signed in for on-line play. I do not see any servers (might be my firewall, but BF42 works fine with my router). There are maps on single player that it will not let me play because I need to activate or sign up for something with EA.

My guess would be to make sure your firewall isn't blocking it (just incase).

Well, I would check your firewall and check your ports on your router.

Also, please elaborate on the "activate or sign up" thing.

I guess I should explain it better. When you create an account you create a user name and password. Will the user name seems to be OK, but the password keeps telling me it is incorrect, when I try to retrieve the account. In single player some of the maps are telling me 'Please note that you must have an on-line account to play this map'. I created an on-line account, but it is telling me the password is incorrect when I try to retrieve it. My firewall is not blocking the game from checking the account information so I believe I do not have a firewall problem, but I will verify that.

I verified that my firewall is not blocking the game...it still does not show any online servers at all. And I still cannot play any online maps.

Really? I always thought it was v1.3.

Would it hurt to repatch?
