PS/2 or USB for mouse?

I just purchased a Logitech MX518. I ordered from newegg and waiting for its arrival. My question is, Should i use the USB to ps/2 or just hook it up to a USB slot? What is the difference? Thanks.

Depends if you have spare USB cables I guess. But i say go with using th USB connection.

USB has higher hurtz. USB is teh pwn.

PS/2 = 125Hz, USB = 1000Hz with a patch, 200Hz default.

The only good reason for not using the USB is incase you don't have a lot of USB drives and you need to plug in a lot of things at once :p

USB is the way to go.

From my experience with the MX series, some functions didn't like working when the mouse was plugged in using the PS/2 port. Thatw as some time ago though .

That's different matter. I was arguing about the speed. If some features are unusable when using PS/2 then it really is not a choice at all in that case. :)

For the record. I got G7 receiver plugged to USB and a keyboard via adapter to old port. Everything works ok.
