for some reason my new proc. is not being recognized in windows XP. It just says unknown CPU. So when doing system requirements lab, I get this.

It's just a driver issue. (Yes, there are drivers for the CPU, too. :p)

You should hunt around the official AMD forums to find where and what to download and install.

Clearly it's telling you that you've purchased a CPU from AMD, as emphasised by the four letter keyword denoting AMD, at the top of the results.

You can either get the latest BIOS update or opt for a more permanent solution.
