Yeh Warhawk i done that and downlaoded one driver from edimax support site and tried but still the same problem then i tried the other driver and the same problem so i emailed tech support and they gave me a link to downlaod another driver from Ralink...so..downloading now...will update soon...


Edit: OH MY FVCKING GOD!!!! HOW CAN I STILL BE HAVING CONNECTION PROBLEMS!!!?!?!?!? I HAVE DOWNLOADED EVERY POSSIBLE DRIVER FOR MY ****IN WIRELESS CARD....WTF!??!?!?!

^^ Just tried that on my brothers and it completely fixed the problem.

Every 30 secs, his would stop with a connection error, and then carry on again. But, now, smooth gameplay

OK did what camper said, thought it worked fine but when i tried bf2 still get conenction problems..

Turn on encryption

Should be WPA or WEP i believe. Might make a difference.

Update: I restarted my Pc to find that i have no network because i took that config service off.



Had to turn WLAN config service back on to get onto internet.

Enable SSID broadcast instead. The wireless utility is supposed to replace the WZC service but it doesn't here so you have few options.

OK tried some stuff in the link camper gave and it still cuts out but ive only played cod4 but it seems less often..its still annnoying but its less frequent.

Anyone else?...Please? I really wanna play bf2....

Update ok after none of the solutions worked that camper gave i left it for a bit...but now ive looked at my wireless utility app and it says "Frames Received Succesfully 175790" "Frames Received with CRC error 43150"

Wtf is CRC error and how can i fix it?

I just noticed your CPU is running at 2.5GHz.

Drop it to stock, see if it gets any better. I had it running @ 2.4 GHZ and it would cut out like no other. Went to 1.86, and it was perfect(ish).

CRC = Cyclic Redundency Check

There are plenty of technical resources on the Web that discuss cyclic redundancy checks (CRCs). Most times you won't need to worry about this technobabble. That is, until one it day it suddenly appears and you think - what the hell does that mean? In simple terms, a CRC is bit of mathematics used to ensure that your data is OK when being transfered. It's a checking procedure that quickly identifies when data has been damaged. If you get this message, it means that the file being read by your PC or software is corrupted. However, it does not mean all the data is lost forever. When data is transfered, it is usually in small blocks and each block is given a CRC value. If something goes wrong with the data between the time it leaves the source and arrives at its destination, the CRC sent at the source will no longer match the one that is calculated when the data arrives - this is when the cyclic redundancy check error will appear.
The most common time you will see the cyclic redundancy check error message is when trying to read data from a damaged CD or DVD. Just before it appears, your CD/DVD drive will probably grind and whirl away - your PC may also become a little slugglish.

Less frequent causes are the result of system crashes, and buggy software (hello Microsoft), incomplete downloads (often identified by the misleading message 'This is not a valid Windows file', 'This is not a valid win32 application' or 'Corrupt Zip file'). If this problem happens frequently with downloads, try using a download manager.

For CDs and DVDs, the problem is a little different. Normally, when CD/DVD drives get a CRC message from a disc, they try to read the disc again - hence the grinding sound. After several failed attempts, they give up and display the redundancy check error. The problem can be hardware (loose cables, failing drive), software or damaged media. In most cases checking and cleaning the disc is the easiest way to overcome the problem. If different clean discs produce the same error, it is likely to be a hardware issue (check the discs in another drive). Another common cause of these errors is poorly burnt CDs and DVDs - especially those that had numerous or severe buffer underuns. USB burners suffer from this problem when the burn speed is too high (generally above 4X-8X)

If the discs are damaged, you'll probably need a recovery tool to get back your data. CDCheck 3 will work for CDs and DVDs. First it will check the media, and then you have the option to recover the files. It's free for personal use and has saved many people heartache when it comes to recovering lost digital images and videos from damaged CDs.

I wouldnt of thought the overclock would of damaged/interrupted the conenction..i will run more stability tests tonight and thanks for the info on CRC, stil doesnt explain my conenction...just talks about cd/dvds....

Try changing wireless frequency, channels or mode. Packets are becoming corrupted at some point, and i wonder if there is some kind of interference.

* Try checking for any other electrical devices that are switched on and temporarily turn them off to test. Microwaves, cordless phones, power tools, washing machines, vacuums, etc.

* Try switching to another frequency. If you're currently using 802.11G, try using 802.11A as it uses a separate spectrum.

* Make sure you don't have a serious amount of metal in close proximity to the AP and card. Metal will cause reflections and interference and ruin your signal.

* Make sure that the aerial is tightly connected to both the AP and card.

Ok the channel perfect and everything and no big metal things aprt from the case itself...After i fresh install of vista i tried cod4 after patching it...And for the first few minutes it worked perfectly. but i got kicked by PB for various errors, obviously i had to update my PB manually. So i visited evenbalance and downlaoded the little app to update pb. So i click on cod4 and check for updates so it starts installing them but with 2 seconds left it freezs and crashes Every time...So i try without the update and cod4 crashes on startup.

Im thinking i should just sell my Pc and grab a 360. How much you guys recong i could get for the specs below?

Ok i tried again about 2 mins after posting this and it update pb succesfully but still crashes on startup.


Edit2: Wow this is becoming more like "lets actually try and play a game than lets try to play it online." I reinstaleld COD4. Patched it. Tried and tried and tried with punkbuster to update but crash after crash after crash....So i try COD4 and iw3mp.exe has stopped working...Omfg im losing my ****in mind...I really am so ****ed off at this ****...Why is it so complicated just to run a ****in game...
