So I was looking into buying a printer. Though, I have a question to ask. What is the difference between Inkjet and Deskjet and which one is better?

Also wanted to ask, does anyone know if TigerDirect rebates are good, how long they take, etc. because they have an Epson Stylus for $69.99 but it comes with a $75 mail-in rebate, so you get it for free.

No such thing as deskjet, its a brand for HP.

Inkjet is the correct term, but Deskjet is used so much people consider it a type of printer, but infact its just a product name.

The main cost for a printer is not the printer itself but the ink.

So take a good look at ink prices for the various brands, and try to get a printer with separate cartridges for each colour.

Some will only have a black and a colour cartridge, forcing you to replace the whole cartridge even if only one colour runs out.

Exactly, even though a printer may seem cheap, at one point your cost of using the printer will exceed the price you paid for it.

Depends on what kind of printer you need. Scanning? Fax? Fast Print rate? Quality?

Etc.

Well I'm thinking of buying a Lexmark All-In-One printer.

unless you need color prints, a decent laserjet (<$100) is the way to go. no running, no bubbles, no expensive cartridges to replace four times/year.

if you need low-end color, then you can't help but buy a low-end color bubble/ink/desk-jet printer.

for everyday-type-a-letter-print-a-paper-use, they suck and are expensive, as a rule, just to give you fair warning.
