IMHO, I think you could use another Gb of Ram.

I'm not sure about the Graphic card though.........

Monitor.....?.....I have 19" ViewSonic LCD. (under $200) 1440x900 res. Looks good to me............

It is understandable why you may have gotten a very good price. It's not "crap", but there are some older components in there:

1) Processor - looks like a single core, running at +3000. For contrast, I have a dual core, running at +4200, and mine is considered mid-range at best.

2) RAM - you only have 1GB. This is the minimum you usually need for gaming these days. 2GB is usually recommended if you're running Windows XP or Vista-32 (for these OS's, anything more than 2GB really doesn't give much benefit).

3) Video Card - the X800 is about 4 yrs old or so. It's near the bare minimum for COD4.

With your setup, you unfortunately won't be able to run everything on the highest settings and a good/high resolution. You will have to play around with them to find the setup that will allow you a playable game experience.

This would've been a very good gaming PC about 3 yrs ago. :)

Augh! The sight of an OLD ATI Radeon like that makes me CRINGE.

Nvidia all the way man... I got 7900GT, its not expensive, but its a damn good card.

The Processor is unfortunatley not dual core... which is the standard about now.

I gotta 19. WS, and Acer, I love it.

I agree this would've been a great computer a few years ago.

personally i think its a very slow machine, but not something that cant be fixed with a better GFX cardm another gig of ram and faster processing power.

where was that computer 2-3 years ago when it was good?

its decent, but dont expect to be able to run anything new with high settings.

how much did you pay? its not that great & it needs another gig of ram, better gfx card, cpu is only single core and if you plan to buy another gfx card like an 8800gt, you'll have to buy a new psu

I'm sorry to concur with the damning views. It's quite old for the new games. You are looking at 800x600 or the next step at most in modern games. Since low settings in any games now should really make you think is the game really worth buying just to see drab colors and textures. And that's what you are looking at with this setup.

If the incredible price is like 100$ then you made a pretty good deal since you can make some profit by selling it in parts and using the money to get better ones.
