Nothing should be lost. It should just be a simple process of putting a disc in and letting the computer update the OS.

Everything will be there afterwards as i'm sure other people will say also.

if your worried theres a chance you'll lose your stuff, why dont you do a backup of important files?
oh and you probabaly dont want to hear this but oh well, why are you upgrading from 1 XP to another, why not go forwards to Vista and not sideways?

Because going sideways is better than going down...

              I would backup everything important.

also why are you upgrading from home to pro if I may ask?

Vista is a NO GO for me lolz until vista is on its feet and ready for gaming ill take it, i currently play CoD4, BF2, CSS, Insurgency, CoH and many otherz so i rly don't wanna gamble with my laptop with vista i will wait i just wanna got to PRO since i have seen it much more better than home i saw MoH Airborne play on Pro but Home cant play it. thnx for the extra reps and advice guys!

if any1 is wondering how Home is not playing MOH AB, it BSOD's. oh and just extra info, i use this laptop for uni while i am away i mainly game on my desktop show in my sig that is also waiting for vista to be gaming compatible.

oh and i will back up my files i have a lot of custom modified skins that i got from FPS Banana and a couple of BF2 mods as well as HL2 mods (i love mods lOL) and a few thousand Heavy metal, Celtic rock, Hardcore punk songs that i gotta back up hehehe

that not right. home and pro are the same OS with pro having a few more features like 'remote desktop server', QOS, and some advanced network features and security. Home sounds like a cheaper, less performing OS, but it performs the same as pro. If your having problems with home I would try a reinstall first before spending $$ for pro.

Home can play MOH: Airborne- any game company would be shooting themselves in the foot if they released a game for home users (IE: Gamers) that didn't run on XP: Home- the OS that many of them will be using.
