PCI-cooling

Yes sorry, yet my 5 thread this week. What do you think of PCI cooling? i'm gettinga BFG 8800GT OC and it'll be in my crappy gateway case (Getting a 900 when i get the cash) and need some ways to cool it better. It seamed like taking the stock VGA cooler off then installing a aftermarket one whould be better choice. But when i found out it voids warranty. i deicded not to. :hmm: how well will this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835425004 do? Will it cool it down?Let me over clock to what people say? is a stable 700Mhz core clock?

it depends because i just got rid of my GT5028 crappy tower unfortunatley im still using the monitor lol but anyways i had an 8600 GTS in there before i upgrade to what i have now and i couldnt describe the heat lets just say i didnt need to turn my heater on to keep warm lol. I bought a MAD DOG fan for an exhaust and it helped but not much. Gateway in my opinion isnt built for after market stuff well in my case that was, it was cramped and got hot fast, but that is just what i experienced and again i had the GT5028. not sure what model u have but i know that any 8800 series card wouldnt fit in that case so make sure it fits lol

GT5432... If that is the case it wont fit. Im not gonna put it in there. Im gonna take everything out and slavage the harddrive Cd reader andwriter and then get

i have the antec 900 and i love it good cooling and holes for water cooling may have to do some modding like i did for cable managment

i recommend you get 2gigs of ram, 1gb wont cut it these days

That's not for sure yet.... And i dont know if you can see but i got 3 gigs eek, it looks like the card wont fit.. It's REALLY CRAMED IN THERE (When i say it i mean a piece of paper..)







It doesn't look like it will cool well AT ALL in this small case..... are the ram slots supposed to be so close to the GPU? Or do i need a new mobo also (Which whouldnt be a bad thing)... oh and that piece of paper is 9 inches long thats how long i heard the GT is... and its about the GT height too...

that does look pretty crammed in there - what mobo do you have in there?
If you want an 8800gt you'll want at least a 400w quality psu.
and with the cooling it looks alright it isn't to messy but how many fans do you have?

Thats my mobo (Not my computer) which sucks. It came with my GT5432 gateway.... I have a trio power 650W comming. and um i have ony the fan which the PSU has.... The Rear fan and fan on the CPU (So not alot..) I dont know if this will work.

that motherboard is pretty small so i recommend getting a full size one and the cooling doesnt sound that good either, and youre getting an 8800gt which run quite hot as they only have a single slot cooler. i'm also getting an 8800gt and i'm getting either an antec 900 or rc-690 - both have great cooling. and as for a motherboard i'm getting a gigabyte p35-ds3l. All the motherboards in the gigabyte p35s are quite stable and excellent overclockers. also, the asus p5k series are good as well

if its a bit much you don't need a 650w psu, 550ws is plenty. i will be getting this psu if i get an antec 900.

already found out i got a Trio power 650.... Ummm so you guys think i should get the antec 900 and a new mobo (Amd please...)? I need to do some wheeling and dealing..
