Okay, I can stand them calling the GT that, but now having 2 GTS's that are beat by the GT and 1 that beats the GTX is a bit confusing. Just name them 8900 already!
Though I still have no idea about ATI's naming system so it's not that bad. At least with nVidia the numbers goes up as time goes by. -
This obseletes Nvidias High end (8800GTX, ULTRA), so nvidia will release an new high end part within the next 3 months, im guessing a full blown 1gb 512 bit card in febuary on the 65nm process named 8900gtx or even 9800gtx then a cut down part in march/april.
ATI will really feel that as they are already lagging behind in the high end department they need to double time it in reaserch next year if they want to make the profits they did back in the days of the 9700/9800Comment

im still proud of my 8800GTS 320MB. seriously, if nVidia want to dominate the market. don't do it by releasing a cavalcade of 8800 cardsComment

Actually, they were released to deal with the pressure from the new 3 series cards from ATI. And, to be honest, once prices have settled down a bit and stock starts coming back in, i think Nvidia will be on top again.Comment
