So, I've been overlocking my 4400+ and I was just wondering what acceptable temperature would be? right now its at 46C under load and core 1 # 2 run at about 50-54C under load. Only problem is I'm starting to get errors in Prime 95 and I was wondering if these temps were ok before I adjust the voltage again. My voltage is at 1.456 right now by the way.

the tempretures are good but if your getting errors i would assume that either the readings are wrong i.e 15 degrees lower like on my Q6600 or youre applying too much voltage to your chip
What was the stock voltage?, how much have you increased it?
Also overclocking isnt going to do that much looking at the rest of youre system, its all good but youre graphics card isholding you back. if you want a speed increase i would reccomend upgrading youre graphics card, the ati 3850 is at a very affordable price at the moment and will probably give you 50-60% more frames per second, you can sell youre x850xt on ebay too which will make the upgrade less pricey -
Yes, of course, the video card is only going to stay in there for one more month. I was hoping the 3870 was going to come back down to low to mid $200's which would be an awesome buy. Problem is I feel kinda stupid putting an ATI on a really nice SLI board.
The chip runs at a default of 1.39volts. I got it up to around 2.5-2.6 ghz before I had to start adjusting the voltage. But it seems like adjusting the voltage didn't really get me much farther. Maybe there is another component holding me back? Its not the memory or the hypertransport either.Comment
