how do you think 1 gtx would do in bf2 and 2142 well i get all high with a lot of AA.
My next big game will front line fuel of war in the new year(no way to tell on that one yet). I don't think fflow will be dx10. Thats what a care about is being able to run fflow on high with all the eye candy and AA high as it can go.Comment

Even if you are AMD fan you just waste 8800 ultra potential with AMD. Those Ultra really, really do benefit massively from faster CPUs. So to make the most of them go with Intel.Comment

Scinto:
well why dont you buy a 8800GT/GTX and save the rest for next year when there should be an official release date for the 9800GTX's.
Thats exactly what i am saying Basil! get a gtx or GT as alex mentioned trust me they are good cards and will own BF2 BF2 is an old game a card such as a 6800 or 73/7600GT can own it for FFOW well i dont really know i am actually waiting for it to be posted on system lab requirements.Comment

I do under stand what you are all saying. the 2 video cards are also a way if the newer ones are not out when i get it, a year down the road i can sell the 2 video card and get the new one. More then likely i will not have 500- 700 to buy the new card. like a i said it coming threw my wife work. I only put up a $1000 for a $4000 rig. That way there making sure i have a good computer for a few years to come why me and my wife get over the rough patch.Comment

If I were you, I would wait, I have been waiting for 3 years, and have ignored everything from the ATi 1600+ and the Nvidia 7600+ till now.
And I am still going to wait till around 2009 or 2010.
Personally, the DX10 cards are new, and ATi and Nvidia are just going to keep releasing new cards at frequent intervals. Just like my friend, I laugh at them all day when he bought an 8800GTX when he could have waited a bit longer to get the 8800GT 512, which doesn''t perform as well, but price wise... it ownt him.
End of the day, wait. Be patient.Comment

Waiting and being patient doesn't really work because everything moves too fast. It doesn't matter when you buy, your stuff will still be out of date in a year or so.Comment

True to an extent, the rate at which they produce DX10 cards now, will not be the same in a few years, if DX10 persists.Originally posted by TomeisWaiting and being patient doesn't really work because everything moves too fast.
