What we just ordered

Well, my mom decided that it would be best to go through dell because of our credit and everything, so we went with dell. We just placed the order, and these are the stats.

I decided against the GTX because in the articles I read, it only looked like a 10 fps boost at max. But it was 300 USD more than the GT. So yeah. And I could choose between this processor, and another one, I googled both and found an article benchmarking both of them, (stock and oc'd) and The C2D 3.0ghz ran alot better stock than the C2QC 2.ghz, But OC'd It did just as well as the stock C2D. So I'm probably going to just OC the Processor to 3.0ghz and leave it :)

Only if the Dell bios allows it. And being a Dell, I wouldn't hold my breath.

And then your Dell licensed/activated copy of Vista will be invalid. And yes the activation on Dell/HP/etc are looked to the bios in Vista.

Good luck getting it activated. You flash the bios with a non-Dell bios and the Dell supplied cd-key won't work anymore.

It's your DELL and your parent's money. But my guess is that your parents won't be very happy when they fight with Dell customer department over the warranty you voided and they can easily prove.

Anyway don't do it for the reasons stated above by Stormy.

The story would be very different if you'd actually have a Vista copy and not the Dell TM pre-installed stuff and oh yes, the BIOS problems. Don't you think someone at Dell tech dep. hasn't thought this thing through? Stay with the Dell BIOS OC boundaries and make the most of them.

I would wait until the warranty is out.

And good luck overclocking a Dell, its not easy (or possible). I have only seen BIOS flashing work a few times, the rest of the time, it just screwed the computer up. But, meh, whatever.
