    8800GTS 512MB preview with benches

This thing is going to rock. It's got better specs than the GTX. Faster clocked core, 65nm and the same amount of shaders.

Any idea about the price anyone?

£240 maybe. Whatever the original 8800gts was when it was released. I'm surprised its not called the 8900...

Nice, but I will be waiting for the next gen card's.. I don't think anyone that already own's a GTS will buy this as an upgrade. It really is not much of one anyway.. I will be waiting for the 9800's and hope there speed is 2x the 8800..

I'm buying it fo' sho' as soon as it gets released here.

Was planning to buy the 8800 GT but it was sold out in Sweden in a week...

This card is both better and cheaper though

i would wait there is another version of the 8800GTS in the pipeline which is a 1gb alternative. We shall see if it works or fails.

Cheaper? Are you sure about that?
Well, for starters the card is going to cost about $50 - $100 USD more than the RRP of the 8800GT. The problem is that the 8800GT is in such short supply that the card’s price has been jacked up $50 - $75 USD meaning that the card could almost come in at the same price.

http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20071129PD216.html <- Take with grain of salt, but that should be better than the G92 GTS.

if there is a 1024 G92GTS, i shall be upgrading from my640 GTS as soon as i can.
                    Evga step-up ftw.

EDIT: and it should be better than the G92, otherwise we're all doomed.
Going backwards in performance is not the way forward.

and my step up won't reach that far anywho

the 256 bit interface is not ideal when paired with 1gb

512 bit would be better as it can make better use of bigger amounts of memory

Next gen for 1gb im guessing
