Wow, check out the difference between my RAID0 and Dan's 500gb drive.

Mine does 104.3mb/s average, whilst the 500gb drive does 50.2mb/s, and the raptor 65.1mb/s

wow holy crap, is it hard to set up raid? Do you have to set the jumper on the hard drives both to master? Or do you just enable raid 0 in the BIOS when you have both hooked up? I have a A8N-SLI deluxe btw.

If you have SATA drives, you don't need to set any jumpers. Basically, you'll need to reinstall Windows. First, find out what chipset you have and what RAID controllers. I know on my Asus P5B Deluxe, i have the Intel P965 Chipset, and a JMicron IDE RAID Controller and Intel SATA RAID Controller.

I go into BIOS and set the northbridge to RAID (I have the ICH8R northbridge btw), press ctrl + I when booting, set a RAID0 and then install windows upon it!

do bear in mind not to keep your only copy of your dissertation or your only copies of important family photos, music, video, etc. on a raid0 array.

if one disk fails, all ur data are belong to garbage.

Same as if it failed on a single disk. No loss :P

Except, it's almost twice as likely to happen
