This motherboard is fairly similar to mine. I circled a port on the right side in black. My question is, what is this port, and can I plug a cd/dvd drive into it? (it's not a sata drive)

Um, no. That is the 24 pin power connector.
The IDE connection on that board is the yellow one right beside the one you circled, the black one at the bottom is the floppy connector.

But the black one ** MIGHT ** be another IDE connecter!

I said "similar". you have to think for a sec. How can I possibly have 3GB of RAM and an 8600GT if there's no PCI-E and only 2 ram slots?

The only manual really worth keeping is the motherboard manual. They have PCB schemas there with plain English used to denote the different parts.
Plus anyone who can read English can just follow the very simple instructions there to put together their own system.Comment
