    whats faster?

2 7200 rpm hard drives in raid 0 or....

    a 10k raptor hard drive.

Basically I wanted to get a raptor but I just can't get myself to spend so much money and only getting like 150 gb.

Raptor no competition but also look at the price of those babies:p

and most are only 150 GB big.

    Raid is alot cheaper

I don't know. I have two WD 160gb Hard disks in RAID0, and they are pretty nippy. I suspect Raptor is faster, but it'll only save you 2 seconds on loading time...

My 500GB Seagate performs better than my two 74GB Raptors imho.

AnotherEd uses 2 7200rpm drives in raid0 and he usually loads about 3 seconds faster than my raptorX. but you have twice the data loss risk with raid 0.

If you really to load fast, get a Mtron solidstate. 0.1ms access time and about 60% faster than a RaptorX.

maybe i should get 2 250gb 7200 rpm drives and then ask for an external drive for Christmas to keep all my important stuff on.
