You don't have to. A p965 chipset will run new Core 2 Duo's with just a BIOS flash.

hmmm my mobo supports up to 1066 mhz,so with a flash i can run a penryn?

Interesting, but rather dissappointing to read. This bodes bad for the customers since Intel dominates and stagnates the market. We'll see penryn "updates" for two years from now on. No new tech needed from Intel since AMD cannot give a good run for their money.

I wouldnt exactly say that,IBM isnt gonna let intel just rake in the money if that happens.
