Edit: I have the side of the case off,was checkin connection,hit power button,its doing the same thing BUT this time i seen a little tiny yellow light on the mobo that pops on and stays on after it fails to start.

I have never noticed this light befor,maybe its always been there idk,thought it might be a error light or some thing.(its rite above a little chip on the mobo)

I called Evga and the tech told me it sounds like a mosfet cooked on me,FFS this sucks now i have to try and find a invoice from 06 so i can send it in,warranty is up on the 20th pfft.

Do any of you know if the 680 i is prone to these probs?

If you bought it via card, look up a statement with the purchase on. Some companies accept this as proof.

Update

I found the Newegg invoice,I called evga a second time just to confirm that all was in order and this time i got a diff Tech on the phone.
(i didnt dial the other techs ext)

For some reason the second tech added a extra year warranty on the board(or maybe first tech was wrong idk) making it a two year warranty instead of one.

I cant wait to get my other mobo,This old rig and its 6800GS just dont cut it any more heh.

Oh,does any one that has or Had a 6800 know any tips/tricks to get bf2 to run smooth, i used to play bf2 on this rig smooth at med/low settings with 60 fps,now on on low settting it plays like crap and stutters bad with like 20-28 fps.

^^There are loads of things that cause computers to slow as they age, here are a few for you to check:
Have de-fragmented you hard drive recently?
Are there loads of un-wanted background processes starting when you boot up? (to check, and disable the startup processes go to "Run", type in "msconfig", click on the "startup" tab, and uncheck any processes that are of no use to you.
Do you scan for viruses and spyware regularly? They can slow you down big time.

bad mosfet can be seen(the barrel looking things on your motherboard are mosfets) and the should be flat on the end..if they explode on the inside the end gets a buldge in it.

you can find the bad one and have a new one soldered in(for a cheap fix)

Yup, those are capacitors, and any decent gaming motherboard will have "solid state" capacitors which will not bulge or explode.

I am real anal about maintaining my pcs,I have not used this one since my gaming rig fired up for the first time.

I cleaned this rig befor i put it away and (compressed air etc) fans and all cleaned it again when i uncovered it to use again.

I run scans all the time,well two or three times a week.
(lol befor you all ask i dont surf the porn)

It also has a fresh copy of xp on it as well,I used to play bf2 on it and it played ALOT smoother then it does now I have like 18 processes running,and use only windows firewall.

Maybe ill play with some beta drivers for the video card.

Edit: I should also tell you guys that 2142 on this old rig plays ALOT better then bf2,settings=Low with 40-60 fps most of the time.Why would 2142 run better then bf2?

As for the mosfets on the gaming mobo,none of them looked bad and i couldnt feel any domed out ones or any thing,rite when the rig went down a friend of mine told me to check for that as well.

Update

I talked to Evga yesterday and they said that the mobo im getting back is a nf680i A1 which is the replacement board for the 680i AR.

I guess its better for overclocking the quadcores and leaves more room for upgrades.
