    Go HDMI?

Right, so at the minute my monitor connects to my computer via D-Sub (VGA) with a D-Sub -> DVI converter on my graphics card.

I found another little plug on my monitor called HDMI. If i buy a HDMI cable and HDMI -> DVI converter, will there be a difference in quality?

I'd quite like to know before spending £10 on an HDMI cable and a DVI -> HDMI converter.

Male's the part that sticks out, and females got the hole.

There isn't any point of using a DVI => HDMI connection.

It's the same signal with the same quality. HDMI is only good if you have both sides connected to HDMI ports (it's the standard used to enforce DRM). Having a DVI => HDMI connection is like having VGA => DVI - the signal is unchanged.

there would be none at all.. dvi is pretty much the sameas hdmi .. I do use a HDMI cable for my 24" monitor but that is cuz it is the only way to connect it to my pc (all LG monitors are like this).
