    What's Wrong?

The requirements say that I must have an ATI Radeon 8500 or greater. What I have is Radeon 9200 SE. What happens when I load the game is that all the movies play except the game doesn't show the menu, just the static screen before it. I can see the cursor and hear the music from the menu but I can't see the menu. What do I do? Also, will Radeon X1550 work for this game cause I'm willing to buy it?

EDIT: The error message I get is: VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.

i had a 9250 radeon but it got burnt (owned) by BF2 very week i guess what u should do is get a new mid-range card if not high end a 7600GT would do, i had my experiences with a 7300GT 512MB all maxed out except AA which was @ 4x only the 8600GT are at low prices budget cards r good for u.

you can try installing older versions of ATI's drivers, setting your chip to run at 4x instead of 8x, turning of smartgart, installing new bios

          Also try this

Otherwise its your card..time for a new one cause that card isn't exactly top notch to play this game.

how old is this system? no AGP or PCI-E ?

if your system is very old then a new card might just blow the engine so to speak. but that card you have the 9200SE just wont do the job IMO & i'd definatly upgrade.

              what are you specs?

EDIT*** also check the card your looking at for power & other specs before you buy to make sure you system can run it, especially the PSU wattage

                Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.20GHz
                2.19GHz
                640 MB of RAM

Thats my specs other than my graphics card and that it has PCI only. I think this comp was made in 2004. Anyway, thx, I will check for PSU wattage. If the x1550 can run on my comp do you think it'll run BF2?

I dont want to say "it will" but im pretty sure it will, i seen it requires a 420W or greater PSU
You only have PCI slots avaliable? no AGP?

I think you will need more RAM but it will run, just be easier of you had a couple gigs.

im no expert on cards & i dont understand this requirement
Digital flat-panel (DFP) displays or digital CRT display.

ask one of these tech guys on here like alex98 he is really savvy on these cards, tell him your system & all specs PSU included (sticker on inside of case on side of psu will tell wattage) and ask himwhat he thinks

lol wats with all these pci video cards.

it should be able to run BF2 low/med settings but remember that PCI = slow

                      Re: What's Wrong?

ok thx, I think it actually requires only 250 watts and as long as x1550 runs BF2 then I'm good. I can't really do anything about the slots. It'll cost too much money with new motherboards and all.
