    NTLDR File Missing-CD Doesn't Read

Just wondering on this because I got my desktop up and running from this problem when I had to wipe everything because she crashed.

Anyways, what happened was I turned it on and I get the infamous NTLDR File is missing or corrupt. Restart blah blah blah

So anyways I pop the Windows CD I have into my computer and the same thing. I try a few more times. Well so I pop my fiancee's Windows CD into my computer...and nothing again. Finally I take a copy of my dad's Windows CD and put it in and it starts to load but freezes before 1% and now it doesn't even read it.

I know it can't be the CD Rom that went to crap. I've went into the BIOS and took a look around there and boot from CD and even HD too. But still nothing

I know a good amount about computers and stuff but this one has me stumped. So any advice?

Also, each time I try MULTIPLE times with each disc. Still no luck

    Thanks for any help :)

Sounds like the IDE/SATA controller failing.

If it isn't, hook the HDD to another pc, copy over ntldr, ntdetect.com, boot.ini and whatever else and make sure the boot partition is active.
