Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
first, if anyone knows if a ati radeon 1270 will work with bf2 even if its on the worst settings imaginable?
if that wont work
can someone recomend a good laptop that is reasonably priced?thanx
Those charts aren't very accurate. It says i should expect about 43fps on BF2142 at 1024x768, no AA, trilinear filter, and max quality on my 8600GT. But when I tested it out in the game, I got about 60FPS at 1280x1024, AA x16, AF (filtering) x16 and max quality.

Fair enough, not in all cases, they aren't always accurate. Al least they provide a basis for comparison though. That is their purpose here.
The 1270, I believe, is an integrated chipset and will most likely not play BF2.

Hmmmm. Why don't I believe you? 1) Tom's is using a set test path and probably averaging the results for each card. Depending on what map is being played and the specific path taken, the results can widely vary. I can push 80FPS in BF2142...When I'm looking at the sky. Your "60FPS" is a bit vague. My point is that Tom's tests are consistent allowing the different card to be compared. Not necessarily how they will preform in your system. There are many other variables to consider. 2) You are getting 60FPS on a 8600GT at 1280x1024 with AA and AF on? It depends on how you measure....

Agreed. But you don't have to buy the game to find out! Just google "BF2 Demo" and download the file. If the game runs, than that's a good sign the real game will also run.

I was playing the bf2142 demo, btw, but I get the same results on BF2. I also didn't notice a graphics or performance increase between bf2142 and bf2
60 can be a bit over exagerated but I do get about 55 - 60 on city maps with those settings I mentioned above (1280x1024, x16 AA, x16 AF, all high settings), and about 45 - 60 on bigger maps like gulf of oman. Just the fact that I get over 40 on those settings would makes the results on his website not the most accurate.
Yeah. I peak at around 220 fps max on a small map looking at the sky and sometimes dip as low as 40-45 on Iron Gator. (Yes, I removed the 100fps cap) That doesn't mean that I get 220 fps. It's all about averages. I trust tomshardware plenty. When you get old enough to know the difference between crap sites (like epinions or yahoo answers) and reputable hardware sites (like Tom's), you will see my point. If you can provide me with a more reputable or thorough site, I will stand corrected. Until then, listen to the adults.
Tom's hardware doesn't even have enough games to be credible, imo. Plus, I've got plenty of screenshots of BF2 (comparing to BF2142) that say otherwise to his averages/estimation.
It boggles my mind how some of you talk down to people my age. If I didn't have my age there, it'd be much different.
btw, I've never heard of "epinions" and I've never used yahoo answers for anything. I'm basing my facts on what I've experienced in the ACTUAL GAME.
I'd estimate my average FPS in karkand at around 45 - 55 at 1280x1024, x16 AA, x16 AF, all high graphic settings. Most of the time it's above 50, and only goes lower when a bunch of grenades go off at once and I'm right in the middle of them
visit www.hypersonic-pc.com they have a laptop that will max out BF2 with 8xAA for 1400$ its a good gaming lappy check my review on it the link is here in the tech center!
