Dual-vid cards, wtf?

What's so great about TWO 8800 Ultra's or GTXs? I mean really o.O

I'm building a comp. and want to know if I should just get one of the above or get e-peen points and buy two lol... What do you say?

EDIT: Budget- $11,000 sign-on bonus for the US Army as a 25B. Lol. And I'm not spending it all on a comp. you douches lol.

if you want some practical advice get one, wait until you find a game that lags, then buy another one.

hope you're getting a 22" monitor to enjoy your 000ber system with...they letting junior enlisted (?) have that much desk space, nowdays? :)

lol, I'm going for Computer Tech (Information Technology Specialist (25B)).

It's for my comp. I'll build whenever I get settled whichever base I get assigned to, needless to say I'm also bringing my lappy :)

more practical advice. (it's free, but you get what you pay for)

unless you're married, wait on accumulating a bunch of stuff at least until you get into some decent barracks or an off-base apt. especially computer stuff, because what you buy today is cheaper tomorrow and obsolete next week.

i think nvidia is releasing new cards with in 6 months so if your too busy to enjoy your new computer I would recommend getting a DX9 card for now provided that you need it while your in active service with the military right now.

but to answer your question, stay with a single card. the e-penis extension you speak of is more of a joke. I personally laugh at the people with dual 8800 gtx and or greater. There is simply no game that needs that amount of power and the cards are already being called obsolet to DX10.1 (will play dx10.1 but not with all bells and whistles).

don't spend all your money in one place.

Nope only the 8800gt, but im planning to SLI them in my new rig

Good news it that its priced around £135 in the uk and $220 in the us for the standard version
