BF2 Ping Rapidly High/Changing all of a sudden.

Hey, Total-BF2. Please help me with this problem. I tried every way to fix that I thought of I failed. My friend told me to go here and post about since you guys are the master of BF2 Tweaks. =[

My BF2 Ping for the last two weeks. Has rapidly increased and started to change in BF2 servers. From 30, 40, 50 , 60 to 80 -90 and over 150+. I have optimum online and my internet works well. I have a good connection. So it can't be my modem. It's not only BF2. It's also the Crysis BETA. Which I installed. My computer specs can't be affected by it either. Maybe it's Vista? I usually get 20 - 30's in near NY servers. And 50+ in far states.

Q6600, 975X Mobo, 2 Gigs Of Ram 667 Mhz, 8800 GTS EVGA/Gateway OC, 700 Watt Delta Electronics PSU, and Vista 32 Bit Home Premium

A few thing to help you guys out:

    - It can't be my Optimum Online modem. (I live in NY by the way)

    - Microsoft 6to4 Adapter has a yellow exclamation mark on it. In device manager. I doesn't affect me according research. It's Microsoft error. Even though it says it's not working properly. It is working. According to Microsoft site.

    - I tried cookie deletion software, Internet Optimization. They went successful and still my ping is bad.

    - I have no wireless router this is the only computer in the house.

    - I also tried release ip which didn't work. Ping was the same.

    - I scanned for Virus and Spyware. I had none at all. My computer is clean.

    Please, help me guys =[.
I play BF2Combat and TWL. I'm afraid I'll only bring my team down with this ping.

have u tested your upload & dowload speeds?

if its doing it on all games, seems like ISP prob. but im not certain. this optium i dont know about,is it like dsl ? or cable? howz it work?
are you on a router? i know routers go bad & will do this, and if you going thru your phone line, that box outside usually goes bad after a few years, makes you signal worse when its raining, and if its cable could be peak hours draggin down the bandwith.

Thanks for the quick response. It's DSL/Cable. It's Cable/TV/Internet. Most guys here from the USA. It's the fastest home internet. The modem is connected to the phone as well and retarts. Let's say if I restart the modem. The phone shuts off. The T.V. has it's own wire though. No router. The Cable Modem is 3 years old as well. Anyone else? Thanks JustMe.

It can be the router itself, I'd check with the ISP and explain you're issues, and if it IS cable, NOT DSL, CABLE internet, it probably IS peak hours slowing you down. Is the ping high ALL the time? As in morning, day, and night?

If so, I'd say it's either your router or ISP, check both.

When does your ping go up? Random times of the day, or certain times of the day?

For me, in the evening around 9:00pm, my ping goes very high. Any other time of the day, my ping is normal.

For example, I'm in western Canada, and (as far as I'm concerned) there aren't any western Canadian servers in Bf2, so I usually play on servers in California. In the morning and afternoon, my ping to those servers are about 50 - 80. But in the evening, they go up to 200+.

For me, it's an ISP problem that they apparently can't fix.
