    Upgrading RAM

ok, this week i bought a 2GB, 2 x 1GB kit. i am currently running on a 1GB, 2 x 512MB kit. i can't see any problems that will occur but i thought i may as well put it through you guys anyway. i'm guessin gthat this will work fine to run it on 3GB? before anyone asks, yes i have enough slots, im not completely clueless.

    Re: Upgrading RAM

I've got the exact same setup as you. 2 x 512mb and then 2 x 1GB, and everything works great. I started off with 2 x 512mb, and then upgraded with 2 x 1GB later on. Windows vista recognizes the 3GB and everything. I've had this for about 2 weeks now without any problems.

Put the 1gig chips in the slots set for Dual channel setups then back fill the other slots with the 512 sticks. You also need to watch the timings of the sticks as well as the bios of the motherboard may or may not work right with the new sticks and you may need to flash.
