gfx issue

hi chaps, ive just bought myself a new pc and im having trouble with bf2





this glitch comes on most times i play and as the silhouette obscures the enemy its making the game unplayable.

before i start pratting about with the draw distances and the like i thought id ask on here.


vista premium
Dell 9200
intel duel core 6400 running at 2.13 mhz
2 gig ram <---dunno what type
720mb 8800 gfx
creative x-fi soundcard

ps, i have the draw distance on max and the settings on good

Check your temps please and update any drivers for the 8800

yeah it looks like a problem with one of the older drivers

have you tried clearing your bf2 cache?

could be heat-related (dell cases :shakehead: ), but heat glitches are more irregular (usually).

oh, and what PSU do you have?

the dell power supply can power that graphics card?.... dunno about that. How many amps is the 12V rail running? You might already be seeing damage being done by the psu.

cheers for the replies, i think it may have been drivers...i thought the ones i had would be good enough because when i downloaded the bioshock demo it prompted me to update them, which i did.

ive been on it today a bit and the problem hasn't resurfaced (yet!)

as for the psu, ive no idea! :|:

ill have a look in bios


nowt in bios and no numbers on the back of the case. im downloading sandra to see if it can tell me. theres no way im taking the back off the case when ive only had it a week!!

OH it came with that card, my bad it should be completely fine.

Dell cases come BTX usually, nowadays, superb cooling.


As for this, clear shader cache, update the latest drivers for everything (try nVidia beta drivers), apply every windows update, and check your temperatures.

It could also be a power supply issue, check the voltages and current draw.

Yea, because of the BTX layout, they only really need one exhaust fan pulling air over the HSF.
