you are using DRR2 ram so here is your best option...
Buy a 2x1 GB 800 mhz ram kit which will give you 2GB of ram rated @ 800mhz and take out your 667 stuff and put in your new ram. Not only is your ram faster but overall performance will rock your sox off...
Having another gig of ram means the world in your situation... Definately not a cpu problem.

just to prove that its not your cpu, I use to play on a 2.8Ghz S478 P4 HT system (AGP 9600 ATI then 7800 OC BFG) and one time it loaded a game faster than my current computer. I was shocked when I saw that! Lol.
