Accurate Temps?

I have vista 64 home premium and im using RivaTuner to monitor all temps.. with the cpu pugin it says ..
cpu0 and cpu1 temps at 22 idle
vid card core idle at 59

stock card clock and cpu@3.00

...are these temps accurate? and if so are they good / bad ?

I had to take my side panel off because of what i thought was high temps because bad air flow.

cpu seem nice and cool,normally 35ish

if it gets over 85c when its worked then look again?

in the past ntune the same thing has reported in accurate readings.

never used riva?but all that should be fixed but those temps seem normal to me

bios is a true reading

wth. in bios it says - cpu - 43c

but in rivatuner cpu plugin in vista its telling me 22c on desktop. which of these are correct and why the big difference ?

i wanted to know the corect temp but every program i use gives dif temps.

the rivatuner cpu plugin says core0 and core1 @ 22-25c idle

but in bios it says -cpu 43c

like i posted earlier ntune and riva and all software based tools are not as accurate as the bios most say...43 is fine

i wouldnt worry about it,and if your trying to overclock !I wouldnt even bother in my view.

43 is right im sure and ok

59 is fine for a G/card

22 is just too cold and false reading im sure

anyone know what the most accurate cpu monitor is for vista? im getting low low cpu core0 and core1 temps with rivatuner but i want to be able to trust the temps and they seem too low. speedfan however seemed too high. that said im using speedfan again since it has the highest temp reading..

There are zero problems. What case have you got? Looks like I need to invest in one. 22*, ROFL. Mine idles at 50 (30 if I turn on this lawnmower of a fan). ****ty case piled with fans.

i guess you're using an intel cpu?? Intel has there own program called TAT (Intel Thermal Analysis Tool). Nothing is going to give you more accurate temperatures than that. You're also going to get higher actual core temps. So you get a reading for cpu 0 and cpu 1. I think most of the conroes top temp per core is 75C, because you are reading off the actual cores, not the mainboards sensor which programs like Speedfan use. You have different maxes on programs like this (much lower, like 60C).

Video card temps... I wouldn't worry about. Stock thresholds are in the 100s Celcius. My 7950GT idles at 59C usually.

Right now im using rivatuner and speedfan. I use speedfan to moinitor the cpu temp ( 35c-37c idle ) and rivatuner for vid card temp ( 57c idle )

Well vista or xp I imagine speedfan will read the same temps because its recorded from the mainboard. I'd look at the "core temps" and add a few degrees to it. (like if your hitting 65, your probably closer to 70) The problem with using speedfan or anything else for that matter is its stress testing is not to the fullest. TAT uses every last little oomph of juice left, whereas even dual prime 95 (dual to hit both cores) does not.

You only should start getting worried when your GPU/processor starts hitting the 80 degree mark, that can shorten the life of your components at high heat

unless your running parts that are designed to run hot, ie laptop components or a processor like the Pentuim 4 prescott

Ok either way nothing wrong with those temp readings. I look at ntune for mine and this is what I get

30-34 idle CPU

59-62 idle GPU

highest 48 CPU load in game

highest 7x GPU exited game.

Normally...

30-40 CPU

59-70 GPU
