Error with Catalyst 7,9

I get this odd error when I try to install the new ATI drivers. Any idea what can cause this?

I run a laptop, with ATI X1600

The stock drivers won't work with the your gpu, since its the laptop and not the desktop version. Look for some modded drivers with mobile gpu support.

That means Im in deep sh!t, eh? Because I dont have the original installation CDs and I have no idea what drivers that thing needs. I tried almost everything from ATI website, including the "Mobile" drivers.

My laptop is a Desknote B660.

EDIT: Thanks a lot Matt, for pointing me where to look for. Im kind of reluctant to experiment and deal with stuff I dont know. But anyway, I stumbled across some laptop community and they had links to mobility drivers I needed. Installed flawlessly. Thanks again.

you should be able to get the updated drivers from your manufacturer

yeah...a rollback is probably the best scenario.

unfortunately, no et:qw for you, as the the demo (most likely the final) requires updeated ati drivers.

fortunately, however, it looks like the gameplay pretty much sucks imho. i downloaded the demo, and am still playing vtmb, lotro, and bf2 w/my new clan.
