    Re: have lag trouble

    Specs?
    Driver updated?
    Internet connection?
    Multiple computers?
    Do a spyware scan?

You can't just say what the problem is. You have to tell us something so we can find out what it is.

with that video card, i suspect u mite be playing on high settings? U will need more ram to run at high textures. Get more ram. and a defrag couldnt hurt

          Re: have lag trouble

          Yeah agreed with above ^^

BF2 on all high settings needs 2GB of ram. An 8600 isn't that good of a video card, from what I hear it compares towards middle end DX9 cards (7xxx series).

Alos, if you want more FPS, you can try to play at a lower resolution and see if that helps any.

By the way, quick google shows your cpu to range from either a E6300 - E6700 (4 models to choose from). Either one will run your computer really fast so what is pulling you down is ram and then your gpu (8600).

i dunno if you're gonna want to be running high settings with that card. Depends on what frame rates you call good. I'd leave it on medium, what processor do you have?

                Re: have lag trouble

the game can run smooth at 20 fps, not that you would want to.

                  Re: have lag trouble

                  What the hell people...

This is CAUSED BY YOUR HARDWARE NOT BEING ABLE TO HANDLE THE CLOCK FREQUENCIES, due to a variety of reasons (voltage, crappily manufactured boards, etc). You're going to have to underclock, and run Memtest86+ to see if your RAM is defective, amongst other things.

Either way, it's a hardware problem, related to clock rates, power supply, and component quality (some video driver makes use cheaper components and the result is an inferior card being sold but with the same designation).

If the entire screen freezes, then you have this problem, simple as that. So if anyone "tuned" your PC, find them.

It could also be a hardware conflict. Open your PC, remove the sound card (google for instructions), then uninstall the sound drivers, and see if the problem persists. Creative cards are notorious for this crap, every single one of them I have had made some sort of problem regarding this.

                      camperstrike

He has a dell though... These computers should work. What is questionable is the cheap components in it such as mobo, ram, and/or psu.

if you want to run all high I said it already, you need 2gb ram. What you need to do now is find out what mobo you have. You can do this through: Start > Run > dxdiag > "System model: xxxxxx"

Use the system model name and google it. There should be info on it and it will tell you what ram is supported with that mobo. Then you can either come back here and tell us your mobo or what ram you want or just do it yourself on newegg.com or something.

                        Re: have lag trouble

Dells work for normal use, but they go super cheap on all the components, right down to the last bloody capacitor.

I've had these and similar ridiculous crashes/freezes/stuttering with Creative cards a lot.
