    Router flooding, wtf?

What is router flooding, how does it happen, and would it be affecting me???

Basically, i was having a few problems in Counter Strike:Source, and the tech bloke said it was likely to be router flooding. The game would connect, and then 5 minutes later, the whole internet would crash.

At the moment, we have 4 computers connected to a Belkin router, 2 via Ethernet cable, and two via wireless. All can be on the Internet at the same time.
One thing i noticed is that when the Internet crashed, the router menu (which i accessed by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar) wouldn't load.
Is it simply my Internet, flooding or is my whole router going???

sounds like your router just can't handle it. More than likely it is just the fact that your router/internet connection fails from having too many connections.

        Like others have said,

your router can't handle the amount of connections at once in combination with the amount of traffic that your giving it.

The router then crashes because it is simply overloaded.

First check the FIRMWARE version of your router, may just need an update. I got a D-Link Gamers Lounge giga-lan router /w GameFuel it rocks if your look'n to upgrade.

You can just disconnect/disable 1 or 2 of the internet connections while you are playing.

Nah, none of my comps are in the DMZ, and neither do i want them to be. Means no hardware firewall! I shouldn't have to put them in that catagory anyways.
