I RMA'ed my first 680i SLi motherboard I purchased some months ago, through newegg, due to apparent failure on the part of the board.
I received the new board today, reinstalled the basic pieces of hardware and pushed the power button, resulting in the same situation that the last board had.
Evga Tech Support wants me to RMA the RMA lol. Which is what I plan to do, but I was curious if anyone else had theorys or if it, as they say is simply 2 bunk boards?
I get 3 led's, an orange, green, and blue, and the error led doesn't give an error code. The bios will not load, nor will the dvd drive open, unless I disconnect it from the motherboard, in which case it opens without a problem, but the moment I connect it to the motherboard, it stops funtioning. The system does power on, but I can get no response from the board, other than those 3 led's.
Just in case, both times, I took out the cpu, swapped out ram sticks, and unplugged all non-essential hardware in an attempt to narrow down the problem, and both times it seems the motherboard is the culprit to blame. I also checked throughly for any chance of metal in the case cauing a short, there isn't anything.
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
