Asus GS1.Will these specs run bf2 how i want it to?

Ok so i have a crappy 1.6ghz computer that i hate so i'm upgrading to a powerful gaming laptop called the ASUS GS1.Here are the specs. Please tell me if this will run the game on all high settings.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ASUS GS1

    Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 / 2.2 GHz

    2 gb DDR2 ram at 667mhz (upgradable to 4 gib MAX)

    160 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm (or 7200 haven't decided)

    Max Resolution 1680 x 1050 (Will play at 1024x768)

    Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT GDD3 SD-RAM 256mb (768mb shared.Total of 1024 mb!)

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh and if you can figure it out, what will be the approximate frame rate of the game in all high settings? Thanks fir the help.:)

I own the G2S-A4. ITs the same thing except with a 17" Widescreen instead of the 15.1".

Put everything on medium, and geometries on high, and view distance scale to 100%.

I haven't even touched my PC since I got this laptop. It has some cool little features you'll discover as you go. The mic is perfect for BF2 VOIP. Webcam is perfect for making homemade pornos.

I am the coolest kid at my college because I have the most expensive laptop, and WADS is outlined in red.

But in all seriousness, yes, this will play just about anything you throw at it. The 8600M GT is perfect for mobile gaming.

EDIT: OH! One very important thing! It only has 1GB of RAM! There is only ONE RAM slot, so the most you can have is 2gb. Yes, it was a scam. Newegg is wrong.

I physically opened up the RAM port, removed the stick, and read the sticker. The Specsheet says that it contains 2x 1GB RAM, and that it has 2 SO-DIMM slots. This is false. There is one slot, and one stick of RAM.

The actual stick says its PC 633 and 1GB. Vista sees it as 2048MB RAM, but no worries. I plug in my 2GB USB thumb drive and Vista Ready Boost adds another 2GB RAM to the system- which is a lot faster then storing cache on the Hard disc.

Also, it comes with a 5400RPM hard disc, and to be honest you won't notice much of a difference between a 5400 and a 7200, aside from noise.

EDIT: OK I just called ASUS Support and found out that one of the RAM slots is on TOP of the motherboard, and the other is on the bottom. You can access the bottom slot through the convenient panel (6 or 7 screws), but if you want to get at the top, you need to remove the keyboard.

If you can get a 7950 you could run everything high... But thats hard to find because its DX9 technology which is being replaced by all these crappy DX10 cards. Also, I think all you need is a T7300 2.0 Ghz 800mhz FSB with 4MB cache. The T7500 has a faster stock clock of 200 mhz and isn't really worth the extra money they want for it.

What is so crappy about DX10?

I hate it when people complain about 'crappy new' technology, but don't back up claims (like not liking vista).

I was referring to the lappy models right now which are not very appealing at the moment. You are better off buying a DX9 card because it will play much better than a 8600.

Basically the 8600 is like an lower end powered DX9 card with DX10 capabilities. Why shell out the extra money for a low end card? The 8800 is a good card though but is not in a lappy mobile version yet... There also seems to be rumours that a DX10.1 or something will come out make the current DX10 cards incompatiable but again, thats a rumour I've seen so it could just be someone talking shlt as your suggested with my post.

The fact is that a 7950 gt mobile is by far better in terms of gaming performance. It will let you take your BF2 game all the way up to high vs the 8600.

Do you NEED a laptop? From waht i remember in the UK the price of the "GS1" was enough for a Quad Core 8800GTX 4 GB RAM build with a cheap small portable laptop as well!
