Weird Vertical Lines?!

I start up BF2.. everything is well until i get into the server.

When I get in, the screen and whole comp freezes, then tiny weird blue vertical lines appear all over the screen. (Resebles captain bars).

Then i ahve to turn of my comp and turn back on to get back to windows

First off

Whats your computer specs?

We need:

CPU
Amount of RAM you have
what kind of graphics card you have
what kind of monitor is it (please specify if it is LCD or CRT).

Make sure your specs at least exceed the minimum requirements stated on the back of the Battlefield 2 box.

Specs Easily meet them, which is the odd part.

I'll try a few things. if they dont work ill post again for suggestons

Also have u tried updating the Punkbuster, DirectX, & The 1.41 Patch?

thing is ive run bf2 on this comp numerous times before, this is a new problem

I believe it is your monitor. Mine did old LCD did that until I got a new one.

could also be sound-related. if you try and run hardware acceleration w/out a discrete chip, it freezes the game almost immediately after joining.

having said that, nobody knows what op is running...so this was just my submission for the random "wth is wr0ng wit my pc" post.

maybe the BSOD is trying to break through the game and pop up.The tiny blue lines could be it seeping through teh graphics in teh game.

in that case we could be having anything from memory issues to graphics card artifacts. If you're overclocked, underclock. Try updating your nvidia or ati drivers. We need specs to help you.

This does sound like you have a software card set on hardware though...
