E6750 is better than a E6600. Its has both a faster clock speed and a faster FSB speed (1333mhz instead of 1066mhz)

To run it at 3.0ghz, you need to overclock. If you have no idea what that it, look up some detailed FAQ's and guides. Its worthwhile if you want performance, but going wrong can royally screw things... :p

I've read that most applications and games don't take full advantage of Core 2 Quad CPU's at the moment, so go with the Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0Ghz, and it would be wise to get a better card, at least a 7900GTX 512mb or a XFX 8800GTS 320mb, both cost around the same price but the 8800GTS is much better and will give you Full eye candy :P

you could easily overclock the 6750 to 3.5 ghz, giving you one hell of a gaming machine.

try raising VVT volts. Also, just because someone elses 6750 went so far, doesn't mean yours will too. if you get within a few 100 mhzs of somone else, be happy with that. You're still way above stock. If you team that up with any 7800 or higher, your frame rates will never leave 80 fps+ in BF2. My frame rates are so high, I have to run Vertical Sync because my gaming performance actually looks worse when the frames go way over 60 fps.

Also make sure you run intels TAT temp and stress tester. You won't see higher stress testing than TAT. It doesn't check for errors, but it checks your max temp better than anything else. Every tenth of a volt you raise you will see significant temperature increase. So check that before you start thinking you're stable.
