Dust and cooling?

Ok, this morning I opened up my computer case, to find my the fans on my processor and graphics card clogged up with dust, so were the other 80mm and 120mm fans, took me an hour to clean it all out, and I checked my temps, and my processor's temperature dropped from 42 Celcius to 39 Celcius, which got me really happy :), so then I went ahead and checked my temperatures on the video card, and idle temps dropped from 55 Celcius to 51 Celcius , so in conclusion, does dust really mess with your computer?

Oh hell yes, it most certainly does. I dusty pc will overheat much easier, and the fans will have to work harder to move air (which leads to shorter fan life).

ohh yea, every time i blow out my radiator in my watercooling i drop a good 5 degrees.

Forget the dang compressed air cans !!! You will spend a fortune on all those cheap cans of air that barely blow the dust bunnies off (especially on a cpu cooler with tight fins)!! Save some money and invest in a 1lb air compressor with nozzle, you can set to 40psi and no dust bunny will survive (he, he, he)!!! You will also not have a ton of empty cans lying around your house or cans with 2 oz of air left in them! Trust me it is worth the $50.00 investment and you can use the compressor with tools and to paint besides blowing off dust bunnies!!!

i have giant unfiltered fan on the side of my case that dusts the computer up within a month or 2 and have held onto the same air can for like a year. I didn't say a can or a compressor, either way it = compressed air. But, too much psi will damage things.
