my evil plan to upgrade

basically im poor till i find a job,so im limited to my woeful~200 dollars budget,here is my plan for pc gaming domination!
since i cant buy a brand spanking new quality power supply i will get this

hmmm... the card is nice. You can't stretch to a 8800gts 320 can you?

As for the power supply, it will obviously be good enough for that card, but i'd like to see someone else's opinion about it...

nice card wish bought it myself i went to hasty and bought my brother a 2400XT which is good my plan for building the ultimate rig is in university i a couple of weeks ill be heading there and in those yrs to come ill be saving up money for the best AMD/Intel chips processors mobos gfx psu etc u could use that strategy and buy those things listed above to keep u alive till u build a next gen like myself!

ought to work fine.

not as future proof as you're thinking, though...the future is right now, with 8-pin connectors for "full performance" already on the shelves.

the fan on that card is adequate for cooling, but it is awful on the ears.

i went through one of these:

and i finally settled on one of these for happy < 80C temps:

(yeah, that's a lot to blow on cooling for a budget system. i'm ebaying the vf900 to try to get a little back.)

The memory is 1ns samsung chips. ati specs them at 1800mhz; the Koreans who made the blasted things tell us that they hum along at 2000mhz out of the box. And the Koreans are correct. :yay: 'course you need proper air cooling.

i had the core up to 685mhz last night, no issues.

as of now no,im thinking of using the 1950xt for a couple months for cod4 etc and once christmas comes with all those nice presents i get(my birthday is dec 22nd to)then ill steop up to a 8800 series card perhaps.
