So my GPU is dead so what do i do!

Ok guys heres my problem. As you know from my other post ive had MAJOR problems with my PC its 1 and a bit years old now and i took it in for testing half of the testing has come back and ive been told the graphics card is dead as the dodo. So it now begs the question what do i do. I cant seem to find the same g card 6600 256mb im not sure if its made anymore that would make it very easy for me i would just get that for now

So now im looking at going up in the world to a 7000 or 8000 series

Im worried with the 8000 series that rest of pc wont cope
AMD 3500
1GB RAM

But then im worried that my PSU wont cope with a 7000 series either i want quite a decent one

My PSU is 300 watts

So im thinking buy a 550watt psu and a 7950GT or whatever they are or a low 8000 that will work fine but thats gonna cost like £100-£150 or more

So then i think hmm if i get all the working bits out of old pc like HD new souncard DVD drive and then buy a new pc that ill build and done some research on:
AMD 4200
2GB RAM
8600GT 512MB
and then my other parts from pc (If they are all ok)
X-fi
Tv card
DVD drive
200GB HD
£350

And then sell my other parts
Motherboard AMD 3500 1GB RAM CASE £70-£100?

So what should i do please help is it worth getting a new g card or do i pay £100-£150 more and get new pc although i dont have the money right now

Save, your PC isn't an upgrade case any longer. You need a new PC, pronto!

Just look for good deals on Intel Core 2 Duos and Nvidia 8800 series cards (the 8600's are naff)

ebay stuff off and buy a budget rig,something with a nice motherboard a core 2 e6300 with the 4mb cache and you'll have a very low priced but powerful computer if you overclock that ready powerful e6300 :)

I talked to Alex98uk and he says that a 7600GT would run fine on my 300w psu which i think would be best option so i can get back to my clan and my gaming pronto. I know my pc is basically out of date but it still runs BF2 and CSS and thats all i need right at this second. Later on this year maybe early next year i will be getting a new pc once i know what you need for crysis. But for now if a 7600GT will run on 300w then this is what i will go with. Thats IF the rest of my pc is not dead but i dont think it will be.
