I have cable internet, and download at 1+ mb per second but I tend to have high ping when trying to play games.Firewalls and such are off.Anyone know of anything that can help ping?

I would check a couple things:
1) Being on cable you may be sharing you line with other people around your house. Check you pings at different times of the day. If it's always high around 8:00 to 10:00 then I would assume that it's caused by your neighbor.
2) Make sure all other devices that use the internet are off. (Xbox360, other PC or whatever) Just the other day I had a crazy high ping due to my 360 downloading a demo while in sleep mode.
3) You may just have a crappy connection. You can call the cable company and ask them to check the line.

Well my ping is usually low but in bf2 i keep getting "lost connection to server" 20 seconds after i join..Comment
