Get the X1950 pro card instead. I think mega said he uses it and he is very happy with it. Not a wallet burner either...

If you want a DX10 card the 320mb 8800 gts is the way.

Also, a 7600 ++ by nvidia will run all high too.

The X1650 pro will run BF2 on all settings high. Trust me. That was my old card and I had no issues what so ever. Just make sure you have 2 gigs of ram.

1650 will run it fine but TBH you would be mad not to spend an extra couple of quid for a 1950, so much more for very little extra money.

The 7600GT absolutely slaughters that card. The x1650 will suffer at certain places because of the stupidly low amount of texture units. The 7600GT needs a slight (25MHz) overclock to surpass the x1650 in every way. I had my 7600GT clocked at 620/1580 stable, so that should be no problem. Even if you don't want to OC, it's still a better card for similar pricing.

The best card (in terms of value for money) presently is the x1950 Pro.

x1950xt is the absolute best card for the money (~$160) on the market at this point. it does require a decent psu. not, it isn't dx10, but neither are any games requiring dx10 for the foreseeable future.

x1950pro follows shortly thereafter, psu is less of a factor.

7600gt isn't a bad card at all if you can get it for under a c-note. otherwise, pass and get the x1950pro for just $20 or $30 more.

x1650xt is on par with a 7600gt, the pro doesn't measure up unless you've got to absolutely stick to a certain budget. i would choose the 7600gt over a 1650xt or pro.

they aren't a super resource for hardware, but this rundown is fairly representative.

edit 2: for the money, you'll be gaming happy with an x1950xt for a couple of years on $160, until games start incorporating; x1950pro is pretty good, too, for the price. 7600gt will last you another year of gaming on a mix of med/high where it counts if my expectations are in line with reality.
