Monitor Turns on and off

My BF2 keeps making my monitor turn on and off. Its really annoying and only stops when I restart BF2. Its really annoying and has made me recently stop playing BF2 in general, because it does it every time I play the game. If someone could help me that would be great.

whats the refresh rate set to? try reinstalling/updating your GFX drivers.

My refresh rate is at 75 I believe its as high as it goes on my moniter for 1280x1024.

What kind of: graphics card, monitor, drivers for both, do you have?

VGA: ATI X1600 PRO
Monitor: Hanns G 19" monitor
and I just installed the new 7.7 ATI Drivers

hmmmm my old X1600 did the same crap :p

reinstall your drivers but run driver cleaner pro before you do and also make sure in the ATI control panel that your monitor's refresh rate is set to 75.

Okay I did the driver cleaner and just uninstalled Catalyst control center all together and just installed the display drivers. I also seemed to have some Nvidia crap still on my computer from when I used to have a 6600GT. Now all that crap is deleted hopefully all is well now, thank you.
