I'd go for this slightly more expensive but it's Razer's latest and greatest goes up to 2000DPI with on the fly ability to change to 400, 800,1600 and 2000 DPI on the fly I've had this for atleast six months and loving every second of it.

Word of warning though if you've got giant hands it may be a bit small for you, or so I read somewhere.

Is there a point to having 2000 dpi? Anything over 1200?

Helpful for RTS IMO and FPS games where accuracy isn't affected by the quickness of your First Person movements.

Probably quite helpful for other genres but thats what I use it for. It takes a while to adjust if you've been using a bog-standard optical or ball mouse and you will suck for a very short period after getting a copperhead or other high DPI mouse, but I feel that it was worth it :)

I always found Logitech mice are far more comfier as they are bigger. But, i guess its personal opinion.

I fly a heli @ 2ooo DPI with my G5. It's great for evasive stuff

And I don't think the first mouse is worth buying simply because it seems that it is stuck @ 1600 DPI which maybe very hard to adjust to... The second mouse suggested seems like a much better choice but then again, I personally recommend a G5.

Strange. I used to play on 20 sensitivity @400dpi but now it's all right down to 1. I don't think having 2000dpi helps in helis/jets, there's a hardcoded maximum rotation speed in there. The only thing that will get you is faster response time.

Getting a new mouse completely threw gameplay off. I miss the ball mice

I initially had that same prob but the ball mouse died and I wanted something awesome. G5 was my answer.

You may be right about that but if one thing is for certian, someone using 400 dpi will be spending more time in the air vs my g5's engine =D
