        Re: Raid ?

RAID 0. Thats what i am running. It basically puts half the data on one disk, and the other half on the other disk. Thus, when reading something, it "theoretically" takes half the time.

I have got 2x160gb Western Digital Caviar disks in RAID 0 (which is used for Windows, games and other apps) and a 400gb disk for files like music, videos etc...

Remember, the total capacity of RAID 0 is the sum of the two disks, whereas RAID 1 is only the capacity of one disk, since the other is mirrored.

Alex is correct, but also dont forget the fact that raid 0 has more a risk at having total data loss because the data is cut in half and spread out over 2 drives. if one drive dies you lose everything.

Thats why its clever to have a second large hard disk to backup all your important files and stuff.

Woah, that was a question I've been meaning to ask/research myself. Maybe I will buy myself a 74 GB raptor to match my current one this wkd and vista64 for my 300gb hd.

hmm yeah yeah! all my files can be backed up on my usb 320 gb. Man I am loving this!
