New Rig suggestions.

Hello all, Im going to build a new rig soon, and judging by the "What Do You Think Of Micro ATX Cases?" Thread, its not such a good idea for me to go with my previouse plans...so I would like it if you guys can help me pic out parts for a DX10/Vista ready computer that is $2000 total or less. Thanks.

Im looking for a mid-tower that will fit a HD 2xxx series or a 88xx series card(s), It should have maximum cooling efficeincy, lowest noise, and a cool look " non beige and not a total square", I will also go for a Full tower but not to big, my current build has a Thermaltake Shark and its a bit too big to tote around to lanpartys. I would like a Duel core proc, Intel, or AMD is fine, I know Intel is better now. Atleast 2gb of DDR2 ram, a noob overclocking mobo "easy bios" and a dvd or Lite on drive, preferably a 700+ watt PSU aswell. I could put this all together my self but I would like to hear from the community what you think I should do :salute:

That's a good budget you have set for yourself there. I'd suggest at the VERY least go with a C2D E6600. You could go a lot higher end with that budget, though. I'd also recommend an 8800 GTX...or two. I'd also go with Corsair XMS memory (RAM) and WD Raptor HDDs. I'd search through newegg.com for your parts but I need to leave soon.

Good luck on building a new rig. There's nothing more satisfying once you've finished putting everything together.

Use my sig as a basic build. Minus the 2 extra gb of ram + mem cooler + maxtor HD + USB ext HD + speakers + monitor.

In total the whole thing cost me under 3ooo CDN 3-4 months ago so I'm postive you can build exactly the same thing I did or choose different hardware.

memory: for the price, get some fast ddr2@800mhz, and you should be able to loosen the timings and get 1066mhz out of it.

rest of your dollars: speakers, monitor (you NEED a larger monitor to use a high-end gpu effectively), and keyboard/mouse to taste.

i like samsung optical drives (quiet) and seagate hard drives (5 year warranty), and i'd get two hard drives, one for programs, one for your OS and video/music/etc.

edit: The more I read about that lian-li case, the more my billfold itches. I need to have that checked out:

Get an Asus..

P5E32-E SLI 680i ...extremely easy overclocking.

you can afford an E6700. (one step better than the E6600, and another easy overclock.)
... and you also deserve 4 gigs of RAM ...don't settle for 2, you'll just be putting the other 2 in, in a month.
