What do you think about Mini ATX Cases?

Hey everyone, im planning my next build right now and I wanted to know how you all feel about Micro ATX Cases? I definatly will get one because I hope to be Lan'ing more and I could place it on my new Ikea desk...that said here is the one I was planning on getting, it is avalible for a "Maingear" pre-built rig, and it sounded well made.

If you have another case that would be great, please, dont hesitate to post it...I am in the mood for experimenting this time and I have a budget of about $3000 USD...thanks

One more thing, this case will fit an 8800GTX according to Maingear, although I would think the cooling would be highly limited, especially if I drop in a sound card for a motherboard like the Asus M2A-VM. Thanks again :salute:

It is a ASUS M2NPV-VM Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard, 1 PCIE x16, 1 PCIE x1, and 2 PCI will fulfill my needs fine.

I had handled that case previously at a Comp-USA and it was a tad bit too flimsy for me, also its a bit too big for this build I have in mind. Well, ill keep it in mind. Thanks :Salute:

Watch out with the mini ATX cases.....most of them will not handle a full blown ATI or nVidia graphics card. (not enough room)

When i said "AMD/ATI fanboy", i meant the company, as they are the same business now. I agree though, Nvidia currently owns ATI. But i think as new drivers are released and games support the newer type of AA, ATI's cards will be better.

1) x1950xt for $149. 3/4 as good as an 8800gts; 1/2 the price.

2) forced intel (in the last year) to actually produce a killer product instead *solely* of relying on monopolistic practices or face the specter of eventual irrelevance

for what it's worth, you almost MUST get a modular PSU to have any hope of tidy cabling/good thermal flow in a micro-atx case. also, there is going to be about 1/4" clearance around your vid/audio outputs w/a 8800gts + pci audio card. My last couple of experiences with tiny builds (both HTPC, though) left me underwhelmed by what you give up, and those didn't even have high-horsepower components.
