I don't know about the 360, but the PS3 went down to $499. Now it's only incredibly expensive, instead of insanely outrageously f*cking expensive.

          or chill with a computer...

My last gaming consol was a ps2. I'm strictly computer based now. Next year the ps3 and the xbox360 will be low end crap and you'll have to spend another $$5oo-1,ooo for your new ps4 or xbox ultra 720.

I'm tempted to get a wii though. Console gaming seems so much more entertaining and more fun now that I've been with my PC for 2 years.

my friend is on his third 360 now (the other two broke) and he will soon chuck out the one he has now and get the elite console. i keep telling him its a waste of money. black spray paint and an extra harddrive would have the same effect.

I am completely addicted to my PC, and no console game will tear me away from it. However, in September when im at Uni, i would think about buying a PS3 simply because of GT5!

                      Re: 360 price cut

After M$ pulled their "VISTA ONLY" crap with Halo 2, I refuse to buy an X360. Using their OS seems to be a necessary evil for playing games, but I won't get Vista until it's 100% needed for gaming, and I'll never buy another game developed by one of their subsidiaries. No "Flight Sim X," no "Halo 2," no "Shadowrun" (which I think they ruined, anyhow,)" and no "Dungeon Siege." They can just suck me off. Trying to "force" players to "upgrade" to a new, crappier OS just so they can sell an old game is just dirty. Until a third party puts out a TRUE killer app for Vista, the lack of driver support and a total disdain for users and gamers ensures that I will not get it. Just read the interview with Peter Moore in Games for Windows, and you'll see what I mean by disdain. He really thinks people will sell their souls for "Acheivements."

EDIT: Dang, I used a lot of evil "quotes" in that rant.

EDIT AGAIN: And screw the PS3. Every cross-platform game to come out for it has been riddled with performance issues. Look at F.E.A.R., Spiderman 3, and Oblivion. 'Nuff said.

                        ding ding ding ding!!!

How many digits pop up on the cashiers price screen when you entre the check out line? Sorry, that system is crap, the ps4 owns it. What? You want to play the awesome games? spend another $1,ooo and your set!

Give me a break... This is exactly why the gameshark is melted into my N64 (you really can't get it out...) and my ps2 is lost in wires of tangled controllers...

I think that if your into gaming consols, they should at least offer a "step up" program (similiar to EVGA's) for a limited time after release or maybe 6 months after the initial relsease. What will it mean? Trade in your ps2 and get a discount value on your ps3. This idea would work for playstation at least, not sure if the xbox games can be played on the newer systems though I suspect they can...

The best part is that it is more eco friendly as sony can do w/e the f they want with all the recalled ps2s and potentially recycle them to some degree? Ah I guess I'm just in la la land right now...
